JONNY CLAYTON believes that Wales are ‘strong contenders’ to seal glory at the BetVictor World Cup of Darts this week. 

Clayton will partner Grand Slam Champion Gerwyn Price in the only tournament’s only pairing to include two 2019 ProTour title winners.

“I’m really looking forward to it and I think we are in with a great chance,” said Clayton, who won his third PDC title in April.

“I think we are in the best form of any pair in the tournament and there is no reason why we can’t go all the way.

“Gerwyn has been very consistent for some time now and I am getting there. Last year was about getting used to it but this year I feel comfortable and confident. I’m proud to represent my country and determined to bring home the World Cup for Wales.”
