RISING STARS Luke Humphries and Jarred Cole both picked up PDC Unicorn Development tour titles with wins in Peterborough at the weekend.

Humphries (pictured) picked up his eighth career Development Tour crown on Saturday, while Cole collected his first on Sunday.

Berkshire based ace Humphries defeated Dutchman Justin Van Tergouw in the final of Event 13 to win his second title of 2018.

The 23-year-old, who finished top of last year’s Order of Merit, had seen off James O’Toole in the last 16, Christian Bunse in the quarter-finals and Joe Davis in the last four – before edging out Van Tergouw 5-4 in the decider.

Cole scooped the £2,000 first prize by winning Event 16 on Sunday, defeating German prospect Bunse 5-1 in the final.

The youngster, who has reached a ProTour quarter-final this year, knocked out Ryan Meikle in the last 16 before victories against Lewis Pride and Scott Dale saw him reach the final.

There, he averaged over 96 in a resounding triumph over Bunse.
