SIMON WHITLOCK’s place in the Unibet Premier League beyond ‘Judgement Night’ was ensured with a week to spare, while Michael Van Gerwen kept his two point lead after a thrilling night in Belfast.

Whitlock was already mathematically safe ahead of his match against world number two Peter Wright, which ended in draw.

Van Gerwen reeled off six straight legs to defeat Dutch rival Raymond Van Barneveld 7-2 and stay clear at the top of the table.
