SCOTTISH DUO ROBERT THORNTON AND JOHN HENDERSON both progressed to the last eight of the Unibet World Grand Prix with wins on Tuesday evening in Dublin.

2015 Grand Prix champion Thornton capitalised on five missed match darts from Dave Chisnall, hitting nine 180s before triumphing in a last leg decider.

Henderson followed up his first round success over world number one Michael van Gerwen with a three sets to one victory over Alan Norris.

Both will return to action in Thursday’s quarter-finals, when Thornton will take on Northern Ireland’s Daryl Gurney and Henderson will meet Raymond van Barneveld.
