James Wade and Paul Nicholson will take part in the inaugral Perth Darts Masters in August after being handed Wildcards by the PDC.
Seven-time major winner Wade and 2010 Players Champion Nicholson will join automatic selections Michael van Gerwen, Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis, Simon Whitlock, Peter Wright and Dave Chisnall in Perth, along with fellow Wildcard picks Raymond van Barneveld and Australian brothers Kyle and Beau Anderson. Michael van Gerwen took a giant step towards finishing top of the Premier League Darts table for the second year running with a fine victory against his closest rival in Newcastle.
World Champion van Gerwen saw off second-placed Raymond van Barneveld 7-4 with an excellent performance on Thursday, moving him two points ahead of his Dutch compatriot with just one more set of fixtures to complete. (more…)
