John Gwynne has been commentating on darts since the inaugural PDC World Championship two decades ago.
Gwynne is also a good amateur player, writer and a fantastic Master of Ceremonies.
He is a sports fanatic and has enjoyed a long career commentating on a range of sports. He covered cricket for fourteen years and is also a regular reporter on Sky’s Soccer Saturday. Gwynne has even commentated on clay-shooting but is most well known as one of the legendary voices of darts.
Raymond van Barneveld’s win over Phil Taylor in the 2007 World Championship final is Gwynne’s favourite match in which he has commentated on. Barneveld secured the victory in a sudden death leg as Gwynne called “And van Barneveld is the champion of the world” with typical enthusiasm.
Gwynne often performs MC duties at MODUS’ world class events, and like everything else he has turned his hand to, he is absolutely brilliant.
