MICHAEL VAN GERWEN produced a stunning performance to win a Unibet Premier League Darts classic against Gary Anderson in Newcastle, while Simon Whitlock kept up his perfect start to this year’s tournament by beating Raymond Van Barneveld on Thursday.
World number one Van Gerwen made it two wins from three matches after facing the players ranked second, third and fourth in the opening weeks of the season.
Both he and Anderson averaged over 110 in a thrilling encounter, which saw the defending Premier League Champion reel off the last five legs to win 7-3.
Whitlock followed up wins against Champions League winner Mensur Suljovic and World Champion Rob Cross with a 7-4 success against Van Barneveld.
The 2012 Premier League finalist remains top of the table, tied on a maximum six points with Michael Smith ahead of their clash in Berlin next week.
