LUKE HUMPHRIES made the most of his Unibet Premier League appearance with a brilliant performance to draw with Gerwyn Price in Exeter.
Humphries landed four 180s, a 161 checkout and hit six out of ten attempts at double to earn a stalemate with the in-form Welshman.
The 24-year-old almost took victory but missed the double for a 148 checkout before Price added a point to his tally.
“I saw this as a big opportunity to put myself in the shop window,” said Humphries, who memorably reached the quarter-finals at the World Championship.
“Gerwyn has been in great form and I haven’t since the World Championship so I’m really pleased with how I’ve performed.
“I could’ve nicked the win and that would have been perfect but I gave a good account of myself and that is what I came here to do.”
Humphries will compete at Minehead this weekend in the Ladbrokes UK Open.
