JONNY CLAYTON narrowly missed out on a place in the final of the Danish Darts Open, as fellow MODUS stars Simon Whitlock and Joe Cullen reached the quarter-finals in Copenhagen on Sunday.
Clayton was edged out 7-6 in the semi-finals by eventual winner Dave Chisnall after the Welsh ace had defeated James Wade and Whitlock to reach the last four.
Australian number one Whitlock had followed up Saturday’s superb win over UK Open Champion Nathan Aspinall with a last 16 success against Adrian Lewis.
Cullen completed a fabulous victory against Peter Wright on Sunday afternoon before running into a unstoppable display from Gerwyn Price, who averaged 110 in his quarter-final victory over Yorkshire’s top player.
Good to reach last 4 in @OfficialPDC Copenhagen, congrats to @ChizzyChisnall 👍, busy month now with @ModusDarts180 Port Talbot Masters, Wigan Pro Tours, @PDCEurope Prague then the big One @Betfred@OfficialPDC World Matchplay… so much to look forward to @reddragondarts 👍🏆
