van Gerwen will face Dave Chisnall in Friday’s quarter-finals, when James Wade and Simon Whitlock will compete for a place in the last four.
Phil Taylor takes on Gary Anderson, while the Justin Pipe versus Andy Hamilton completes the line-up.
All four quarter-finals will take place on Friday, with the semi-finals being played on Saturday and final on Sunday.
