ROBERT THORNTON followed up his success in qualifying for the second European Tour event of 2017 by securing his place in third, as John Henderson joined him in reaching the German Darts Open.
The Scottish pair came through Friday’s qualifier in Barnsley to book their places in Saarbrucken on April 21-23.
Thornton, a winner on the European Tour, dropped just four legs in defeating Terry Temple and Ray Campbell.
Former European Tour finalist Henderson saw off youngsters Luke Woodhouse and Keegan Brown.
Paul Nicholson also qualified for the event.
