SIMON WHITLOCK’s 2018 bwin Grand Slam of Darts campaign was cruelly ended by defeat in last-leg decider against Gerwyn Price in Wolverhampton on Friday.
Whitlock was unable to convert five match-darts and never trailed his Welsh opponent until the very end of the 31-leg battle.
The former European Champion tweeted his disappointment at the result but will return to action in the Players Championship and World Championship.
I am really disappointed not to have won that match last night but big enough to say that I had my chances and didn’t take them. Losing that was hard to take but I’ve not come this far to let it affect me. I want another TV title and I’m going to get one sooner or later.
