MICHAEL VAN GERWEN produced a brilliant comeback to earn a draw against Gerwyn Price in Belfast on Thursday.
The reigning Unibet Premier League champion trailed the Welshman – who is yet to beat van Gerwen in 16 attempts – 5-1 and 7-5 but again denied Price a win.
“I missed too many doubles and I shouldn’t put myself in that position – at one point I was on 1/11 but I always believe in myself,” said the Dutchman, who survived two match darts in the final leg.
“He played really good darts and this game had everything. I hoped I would get one chance and I’m glad he gave me it.”
Van Gerwen, who sits second in the league table, meets Michael Smith in Liverpool next week.
