MICHAEL VAN GERWEN produced a stunning performance to defeat Dave Chisnall in a high-quality Unibet World Grand Prix quarter-final clash in Dublin on Thursday.

The three-time champion averaged 101.54 – the tenth highest in the history of the unique double-start tournament – in a 3-1 victory at the Citywest.

“We should have games like this all the time, it was incredible,” said Van Gerwen. “Dave played a phenomenal game, I think it was the best game ever seen in Dublin.

“I need to keep my concentration for tomorrow, there’s still a long way to go – I want to win this title, it’s as simple as that.”

Van Gerwen will take on defending champion Daryl Gurney in the last four on Friday, after the World number five defeated Gary Anderson.

Peter Wright meets Mensur Suljovic in the other semi-final.
