World Champion and world number one Michael van Gerwen turned on the style to win the Dutch Darts Masters on Sunday.

The 24-year-old sensation won four matches to clinch the European Tour title in his native Netherlands, averaging over 100 in every one of them.

van Gerwen defeated Mervyn King 6-4 in a brilliant final in Veldhoven to scoop the £20,000 first prize, delighting his army of adoring fans in the jubilant home crowd. (more…)

Robert Thornton cruised into the last 16 of the World Championship with a straight sets victory against Beau Anderson on Saturday evening.

The world number nine produced an excellent display to see off his Australian opponent, hitting seven 180s and averaging almost 99 in the win.
