LUKE HUMPHRIES has sealed a two-year professional tour card and a place at the 2018 William Hill World Darts Championship after topping the PDC Unicorn Development Tour Order of Merit for 2017, winning five events along the way.

Humphries completed the season in style by winning the final event of the year after reaching the decider of the penultimate tournament.

The 22-year-old amassed over £13,000 in prize money over the course of 20 Development Tour events, of which he won a quarter.

The Newbury ace was edged out 5-4 by Rowby-John Rodriguez in the final of event 19, before defeating Jake Jones 5-3 to win event 20.

Humphries will make his debut at the World Championship at Alexandra Palace in December and will compete in ProTour events for the at least the next two years.
