DAVID EVANS claimed his first PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour title with an impressive run of wins in Peterborough on Saturday.

Evans defeated Ryan Murray 5-2 in the final of Event 17 to scoop the £1,000 first prize at the East of England Arena.

He overcame Chas Barstow, Nathan Treadgold, Patrick Lynskey and Peter Mitchell to reach the quarter-finals, where he saw off Cody Harris – who is second on the Order of Merit.

Evans earned a 5-3 over Andy Boulton in the last four before going on to triumph in the final against Murray.
