LUKE HUMPHRIES reached the quarter-finals of Players Championship 17 as he returned to PDC ProTour action on Saturday in Wigan. 

World Championship quarter-finalist Humphries had sat out the previous two events after revealing his ongoing struggle with a severe anxiety issue.

After seeking professional advice and long-term support, Humphries recently returned to the oche and immediately won his first Development Tour title of the year before enjoying his best ProTour run of the season so far.

Fellow MODUS ace Danny Noppert reached the last 16.
