DUTCH YOUNGSTER Wessel Nijman picked up his maiden PDC Unicorn Development Tour title after winning a close final against Bradley Brooks in Wigan on Saturday. 

The 17-year-old had lost to Brooks in the first event of 2017 but bounced back with wins over the likes of Callan Rydz and Mike De Decker en route to the final of Event Two.

The pair contested an thrilling final, which Nijman eventually won 5-4 with the aid of a 180 in a 13-darter to clinch glory.

18-year-old Brooks, who is already competing on the ProTour, had reached the last 32 in Event One before going on to reach his first Development Tour final.

Keelan Kay enjoyed a strong debut on the Development Tour as he picked up seven victories over the course of the weekend.
