VINCENT VAN DER VOORT’s run to the quarter-finals of the Dutch Darts Masters has strengthened his chances of qualifying for July’s World Matchplay in Blackpool.

Van der Voort, a former quarter-finalist at the prestigious tournament, defeated Andy Boulton, Mensur Suljovic and Max Hopp in Zwolle last weekend before losing out to eventual runner up Ian White.

The Dutchman moved into the provisional qualifying spots via the Pro Tour Order of Merit.

Fellow MODUS stars Michael van Gerwen, Simon Whitlock and Jonny Clayton will be seeded as at the Winter Gardens as members of the world’s top 16, while Joe Cullen, Danny Noppert and John Henderson are also in provisional qualifying spots.

Keegan Brown and Steve West are firmly in contention with four events to go before the cut-off.
