MICHAEL VAN GERWEN picked up his fourth World Series of Darts Finals title with victory in his home country on Sunday.
Van Gerwen defeated Danny Noppert 11-2 in an all-Dutch final at Amsterdam’s AFAS Live to claim a third tournament triumph from the last four televised events.
“It’s been another phenomenal tournament for me,” said Van Gerwen, who was at his dominant best throughout the tournament, averaging 102.
“The crowd here were fantastic, and I am very pleased to have produced a good performance for them and win myself another title”
“Danny also played a superb tournament and I am sure we will see more of him on the big stages in the future.”
Van Gerwen kicked off his glory charge with a hard-fought win against Gerwyn Price on Saturday before seeing off Jonny Clayton, Mensur Suljovic and Noppert to take the crown.
