SIMON WHITLOCK reached the quarter-finals of the World Grand Prix with a straight sets victory against Richard North in Dublin on Wednesday.

The Australian followed up his first round success against Christian Kist with a more comfortable victory as he set up a last eight clash with Benito van de Pas.

It was the end of the road for Steve West, however, as Mensur Suljovic took narrow wins in three sets to progress.

Scottish duo Robert Thornton and John Henderson are also in action tonight. ‘The Thorn’ takes on Daryl Gurney, while Henderson meets Raymond van Barneveld.
