DANNY NOPPERT will make his debut at the Betfred World Matchplay next month in Blackpool, where John Henderson will return to compete for the third successive year.
The pair’s places in one of darts’ most prestigious tournaments were confirmed at the conclusion of last weekend’s ProTour double-header.
Noppert’s Players Championship victory in Dublin last year helped him qualify via the ProTour Order of Merit alongside fellow MODUS aces Henderson and Joe Cullen.
Michael van Gerwen will head to the Winter Gardens as the number one seed, while fellow members of the top 16 on the main Order of Merit Simon Whitlock and Jonny Clayton will also be seeded for the 32-player event.
Dutch star Vincent van der Voort is currently in a provisional qualifying place with one more tournament to play before the cut-off.
Keegan Brown sits just outside the 16 ProTour Order of Merit places but a first round victory at the Czech Darts Open on Friday could be enough to see him qualify.
It is also possible for Steve West to qualify if he can produce a semi-final run in Prague, while former UK Open and World Grand Prix winner Robert Thornton would need to take the title on Sunday.
